MILLY S/S 2012 FASHION SHOW.

This season, the girl wearing Milly is smart and witty , and this shows with bold geometric inspirations in the collection. With the theme “a lesson in geometry”, Michelle Smith was inspired by the paintings of Sonia Delaunay, who did works with strong graphic shapes and a plethora of color combinations. Before the show started,  a rubix cube-like backdrop was illuminated setting the mood for what was to come.

The color combinations and stark contrasts with every color from fluorescent citrons, cobalt, tangerine, to deep browns really captured the spring like freshness which was very present in the other collections shown thus far. Some of my favorite looks had a very 60s feel about them, with longer hemlines in the skirts and accessorized with collared shirts and scarves. Another high point in this spring collection was the capsule shoe collection she designed with Sperry, to add more of a practical yet smart and classic touch to any outfit.
